Porsche 997: Sixth generation 911
The sixth generation of 911 (997) has continued the campaign tradition that has been consistently adhered to in the past 911 years. The appearance of the car body has become more streamlined and concise. The classic circular lamps and the front face lamps have added two small lights. 911 (997) provides two types of displacement models, of which Carrera uses a 3.6L engine of 325 horsepower and Carrera S uses a 3.8L engine of 355 horsepower. Open-top and four-wheel models have also been introduced.
911 (997) Turbo used the 3.6L turbocharged engine on 996, the maximum power reached 480 horsepower, and the new traction traction control management system dynamically allocated the torque to each wheel. 911 (997) Turbo's LED front steering lights are "mosaic" on the huge air intake, which is very unique. 911 GT3 and GT3 RS use a 415 horsepower 3.6L naturally aspirated engine.
In 2007, the 911 Turbo convertible joined the model series.
In the sixth generation 911 (997), apart from direct injection, active suspension system and 7 speed dual clutch transmission, 911 Turbo added variable geometry turbine and expanded intake manifold technology. The former can change the shape of the turbocharged turbine, which can adjust the air intake according to the need; the latter can make the air expand before entering the engine, thus reducing the temperature of the inhaled air. In order to improve the control problem brought by the engine rear position, Porsche developed a dynamic engine supporting system, which can move the engine slightly when the vehicle moves, thus slowing down the transfer of vehicle quality.
